Looking for Recipes

In Uncategorized on September 30, 2008 at 7:00 pm

Lately, I’ve been looking for recipes for diet shakes. You know, those drinks you mix up quickly and drink in replacement of lunch and of course they make you look all sexy and super slim right away (: I just want something that will make me feel full but not take up a lot of calories.

I found this site and I think, by adding some protein powder or psyllium husks to these (and yogurt, in replacement of whatever their “scoop” thingy is), you’d be able stay full and have a small snack out of it or meal.

I’m going to look into it more, to make sure I know the amount of calories I’ll be taking in, but it seems like a good idea so far (:

Ps: I’m totally not an expert on this, I’m just looking for a healthy way to cut down on my calories!

Craft Fairs

In Uncategorized on September 30, 2008 at 3:00 pm

I used to love going to craft fairs, especially around Christmas Time and this year I’m actually going to be participating in one myself. It’s a new experience and I hope to learn a lot from it, not only about how to prepare, but also about my products; What is popular and what receives a good response (or bad).

Tips are always helpful, you can never get enough advice! Here’s a new article from Etsy that is really great! Just from the top picture I have some new ideas on how to display my items and make creative things to attract customers.

Take a peek!

The Kj Blog

I’ve been working on my domain lately, the other one (oooh, that makes me feel like I’m cheating on this blog: “the oooother one”. Like the other woman).

I was finally able to install the “Contact Page”, or “Write Me” as I named it. So awesome! I’d love to receive some emails, so write me dang it! (:

There’ll be more funky stuff happening on the new blog in the next little while, so keep taking a gander over there.

Geeks Unite

My hubby is always calling me a nerd or geek. He’s a computer tech and I’m on the computer more than he is (: But that’s what happens when you’re a blogger and Etsy seller, you have to be on the computer or things just won’t get done!

I was checking out another blog today and she linked to this site – apparently it’s great for me because I’m a “Geek”. It’s called GeekSugar, and has a tag line of “geek is chic”, I’m totally getting a T-shirt made with that line (: Maybe matching ones for me and the hubby…hah.

Check out the site, it’s awesome and it will help you realize that being geeky isn’t a bad thing. It’s damn sexy.

Guest Blogging!

In blog, etsy on September 29, 2008 at 3:25 pm

As you might know, my new goal for this blog is to Guest Blog two times per month. I contacted a couple of my favorite blogs in order to see if they’d have room for an entry from me and the first one is up this morning!

Go on over to Twiddlestix blog and see what I had to say about getting your Etsy shop ready for the Christmas season! Remember to leave comments!

I have a couple more guest blog entries to work on today, I’ll be busy busy!

By the way, I received my business cards a while ago and just haven’t been able to take a good picture of them (stupid camera!). Here’s what they look like though, and I’m pretty pleased with them!

Link Luv!

In Uncategorized on September 27, 2008 at 3:00 pm

I love these entries! I think it’s because I appreciate it so much when other bloggers link to my blog, and I just love giving that back!

Here’s a few sites I’m in love with this week:

  • Heart Handmade: There’s some great blogs linked on this site for the creative mind. Really interesting and cute stuff!!
  • Of course I have to link Liberty Post, one of my fave blogs (:
  • Damien from Post Cards from the Funny Farm and Damien at the Speed of Life has been a huge help with my other blog. Check out his blog, Speed of Life, for some great blogging tips.
  • Check out these awesome boatson Etsy!
  • And of take a peek into my other blog!

Goals – Phhhh!

In Uncategorized on September 27, 2008 at 12:00 am

Goals shmoles. Bah.

Last week (and this week so far) have been a bit of a bummer. Not that I don’t fully appreciate everyone’s visits and comments and love, I just wish my promoting had paid off a bit more.

Last Weeks Views: 273. 77 off of the goal of 350 views.

I really need to find another blogging site that I can promote my blog at. I’ve tried Entrecard and Blogcatalog and I do get a few views from them, but because I can’t put their avatar on this blog, I don’t think I’m getting quite the response that I couldbe getting. I need another site that I can go to, become involved in the community, make friends and post links. Preferably, without having to earn points and post an avatar on the blog.

I’m wondering if Urbis has anything for blogs…I’ll have to check that out.

For all those writers reading, Urbis is a GREAT resource for you! You post clips of a novel or short story you’re working, a screenplay or poem…anything that you’re writing…and other members critique you. This site does involve points too, but it’s so much “easier” (and constructive) to earn them.

Here’s hoping for next weeks views!

Guest Blogging

In Uncategorized on September 26, 2008 at 4:44 pm

Just a plug for myself (: I’ve picked up one Guest Blog spot this month (I’ll be linking to it on Monday when it’s posted!) and I’m still hoping for another one!

If you think you’d like an extra entry on your blog, let me know! I’d love to write up something for you! We have a few more days in September and I’d like to have to Guest Blogs under my belt by the end of the month. Please contact me if you’re interested, either through my Etsy Shop or you can email me at katelynjane.etsy@hotmail.com.

Lately I’ve been trying to learn Photoshop and all it’s features. It’s a hard job! This is what I came up with last night, just fiddeling around with layering and opacity and of course using one of my own photos (:
