Satisfied

I’m so content right now. I’m drinking Tim Hortons Double Double and eating Tim Bits, I’m writing a few new ads for the radio station…and of course blogging (: AND last night I was able to sew up two new Pocket Pals, which I’ll be posting pictures of later this afternoon. They’re pretty dang cute!

Allllso! I’ve been working with a GREAT Etsy shop, Henry Rabbit. She’s been creating ads for my Etsy shop and this blog. I can’t wait to post them, they’re really great! If you’re looking to advertise this Christmas season 1) you’d better get on it soon and 2) Go to Henry Rabbit! She’s SOOO affordable and so worth every single penny!

Modish

Modish is one of those blogs that I strive after. I realize I’m not in their “league” (Ahem, YET) but it’s something I am working towards slowly but surely.

The other day I was browsing through the Etsy Forums and saw that Modish (Jena) has an Etsy profile! Very cool. She was linking to her blog (see, even the big blogs promote themselves in Etsy Forums!) because she had made this great entry on marketing. Not only are there tons of links, but there’s also a short discription on what the blog / company will look for when you present yourself to them. It’s really something to read through, if not act on just yet.

While I was at the Modish Blog, I clicked on an entry I saw about Trashy Diva. It’s a shop full of great clothes, shoes and accessories. Really, it’s vintage style, but they’re super cute and could fit any style. And the prices are pretty reasonable too! There’s a pair of boots that I really really want…but they’re a bit out of my price range (as good boots usually are!).

I love Modish. It’s actually one of the sites that I’m going to try to advertise on. Oh, I didn’t write about advertising here did I? Nope, that was in the other blog.

                             

The Kj Blog

I’ve been working on my domain lately, the other one (oooh, that makes me feel like I’m cheating on this blog: “the oooother one”. Like the other woman).

I was finally able to install the “Contact Page”, or “Write Me” as I named it. So awesome! I’d love to receive some emails, so write me dang it! (:

There’ll be more funky stuff happening on the new blog in the next little while, so keep taking a gander over there.

Geeks Unite

My hubby is always calling me a nerd or geek. He’s a computer tech and I’m on the computer more than he is (: But that’s what happens when you’re a blogger and Etsy seller, you have to be on the computer or things just won’t get done!

I was checking out another blog today and she linked to this site – apparently it’s great for me because I’m a “Geek”. It’s called GeekSugar, and has a tag line of “geek is chic”, I’m totally getting a T-shirt made with that line (: Maybe matching ones for me and the hubby…hah.

Check out the site, it’s awesome and it will help you realize that being geeky isn’t a bad thing. It’s damn sexy.

Well, my goals were good to me last week! 504 views and many many comments! I’m really pleased! I know that quite a bit of these views were from my entries on successful Etsy sellers and that’s really helpful to know. My views / comments seem to skyrocket every time I have articles about tips with selling on Etsy or “how to’s” regarding Etsy…so I guess I should do that more often!

The week before last (I’ve been so busy at work lately, I’ve been forgetting my scheduled posts!) I did pretty good too, 314 views. Just caculated: In the past five months, this blog has received 4,040 views!! Crazy!

Have you checked out my new site?? There’s still quite a bit of work I need to do on it, but it’s getting there. My very OWN domain!! I’m so excited! I’ll be changing the decor on the new site every now and then, let me know what you think!

Big News!

Yep, like promise there’s HUGE news today! It’s now official that katelynjane.com is owned and operated by ME (: That’s right, I have my own website, katelynjane.com!! At the moment I’m still working at understanding the set up, learning the ropes and getting it to where I want it to be. Eventually I’d like to move the blog over there, but we’ll keep it here for now.

I’ve been working on this project a lot lately and hope you love it as much as I do!! It’s been so much fun learning how to work the site (it’s wordpress.org and quite a bit different than wordpress.com) and decorate the blog. I love the challenge and even though some parts of the process have been a bit overwhelming, I’ve still been having fun.

A big thanks to Damien who has been mentoring me in this process. I pestered him constantly for a while there, always asking questions and getting him to help me. Thanks Damien!

This is just one of the stepping stones towards my biggest goal. I have yet to put this goal into words, but I have an idea of it in my head. Slowly and surely.
