Accepting the Challenge

In Uncategorized on September 16, 2008 at 6:06 pm

Works crazy today. Like super crazy, super stressed, super everything. Things are coming unraveled all over. So it was time to take a coffee break and read through my blog roll. There’s several blogs that I automatically go to first. Tiny Fig is one of them. She linked to Always Amy’s blog who offered up this challenge to post this movie about Etsy. Just another way to get the message out about Etsy.

It’s hard for me not to accept a challenge (not that this one is hard!) so here’s the video!

And I’m hyped up on Tim Hortons. That’s why the fast sentances….I’m r-r-r-ready to t-take on the world! Anyone got running shoes, I need get rid of this energy. Got the twitches.

More Projects

I finished another bag last night (: I love this fabric and I’ve made the handles a little bit different again. I tied the knot on the rope handles inbetwene the lining and the outer shell so you can’t even see it. There’s also two zippered pockets on either side of the bag. The handle is long enough that you can wear it messenger style too!

Yippee!! It’s finally Saturday! More sewing for me (: I’m planning on getting up a bit early since Hubby will be getting up early too. That’ll give me a good head start on more bags and hopefully a chance to work on my other blog!

Projects and Wants

I want this necklace, I should really just buy it and stop craving it…maybe next pay cheque. It’s just so awesome, I can’t get enough of it! Check out LF Jewelry Designs for more of their great work (:

Last night I was working on the bags again, I just about finished another one, but still have to get supplies for the handles. I’ll be doing another bag tonight too. I’m trying to complete a bag a night, I figure that’ll get me ahead in stock quite a bit.

I just found out that the craft fair I’ve applied to participate is happening on November 23rd this year. It’s only $15.00 for a table and apparently it’s supposed to be a very successful event. My plan is to attend two fairs this winter, I think that’s enough to get my feet wet and not get overwhelmed.

AND because the fair is on the 23rd this year (instead of the 29th), hubby and I are able to go to a Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks hockey game in Calgary (: YAY!! It’ll be my first live NHL game, we watch them on TV all the time and I’m SO PUMPED!!! I want to get a jersey too…and beer…and I’ll be cheering my guts off!! So excited!! 😀

Camping and Wine

In Uncategorized on September 7, 2008 at 8:12 pm

Have you ever noticed that weekends seem longer when you do something on Friday nights? This past Friday, hubby and I went camping, just the two of us to one of our favorite spots. We brought a bottle of wine, Yahtzee, white Cheddar pop corn and enjoyed the gorgeous view of the unending stars. I just love the top picture, it totally captures my kind of camping!

Today is another beautiful day so we’re heading out with some friends for a fire and hot dog roast. While us girls chat and enjoy the day, the boys will be filling our truck with more fire wood for the wood stove. Living in the cold cold north means you have to get a big head start on the snow.

More sewing this evening…I have a couple new bags cut out and ready to go and I think I’ll have a chance to finish both of them. Yet another twist as I find different styles I like. I’ll be posting pictures!

New Items!!

In Uncategorized on September 5, 2008 at 4:31 pm

I was busy updating my Etsy shop last night…The only bummer was that somehow I deleted one of my items this morning…Dang it! I clicked on it to edit it and then decided it was fine. I guess by not pressing the FINISH button I made it pop out of the shop. Oh well, I’ll just add it again this evening.

Lemon Shoulder Bag, Little Red Sailor Bag, and Plum Flowers (which already has 53 views!) are all up for sale in the shop! I’ll be adding the grey floral bag this afternoon as well as the Little Yellow Sailor Bag. And hopefully sewing another one tonight (:

We were planning on going camping this weekend but since the hubby’s quad is out of commission, we’ll probably stay home…and go to the Farmers Market (: I’m excited to go again since I haven’t been in a few weeks, but the thought of waking up so early doesn’t crank my tractor. I’ll get over it though 😀

NOTE: Thanks to Tany, the bag I thought I’d lost off of Etsy is now found (was blind but now I see…) and it’s up! Thanks Tany girl!

New Design

I’ve been thinking about this design for a while now and finally had the time to sew up my first bag! I just LOVE how it turned out! I have a thing for nautical stuff, and this is just so perfect. I’m not sure if I will be selling this exact bag, but I’ll be making more along this line (not only nautical, but other looks too!) and selling them in my Etsy shop and at the Farmers Market!

Ps: Note the grommets?? I used my grommet machine on this one and LOVE it!

Some News

In etsy on August 27, 2008 at 6:36 pm

Wedding Wednesday is coming, I promise!!

But I just had to share some news: Yesterday was awesome for me. First:I went to a jewelery party. Not really my thing, too much bling…but I wanted to visit and the girl that hosted it asked me to bring a couple bags so she could see what I made. Turns out, without even trying, I made a sale (: Yay! Second:I bought a new sewing machine!! I’ve been saving my money and found this great heavy duty machine on ebay. It sews through leather and denim no prob…I can’t wait to use it! I’m planning on doing a few leather bags, see how it goes anyways (: SUPER excited!!

New Bags!

Well, as I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been working on a new type of bag. I haven’t come up with a name for this one yet…

I just love this style though! My other bags seem to target women that are my mom’s age (honestly, this surprised me, but that’s who seems to be buying them the most!) I’m hoping that these new bags will attract the younger girls, teens etc. I love the shape, durability and straps on this bag. The straps are shorter, but still long enough to slip over your head to wear in a messenger style.

I’ve put zippered pockets on the interior of these bags and I’m planning on putting big huge zippered pockets on the outside.

I’m also planning on putting adjustable thingys on the straps too (: I’m working on another style of bag which I’ll be featuring soon too!!

Bag Party!

In Uncategorized on August 21, 2008 at 4:50 pm

Well, last night my two guests arrived right on time (a huge feat for our little town). Unfortunately, I did something to my back so I was hunched over the whole evening, but they didn’t seem to mind at all as they oooh and aaaahhh over my bags. They just couldn’t get enough of them!

They each ended up buying a big KJ Bag and one of the ladies bought a Zippy too. It amazes me that I made $102.00 in less than 20 minutes!! But the best part for me is that they just loved my bags. It still blows me away that people adore something I made that much! I gave them a few business cards and they said they’ll be bragging about my bags to all their friends.

I told them to let me know if they ever wanted to have a little party with their girlfriends. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a regular home party with my bags? I’d just love it! To me, it’d be so much better than going to the Farmers Market. With a home party people come expecting to see one thing, instead of going to buy fresh veggies and then happening to look at my bags. It just seems like it’d be much easier to make a sale.

Yay for Etsy!!
