It’s crazy how, after a week of -40c weather, -10c feels so summery! “You know you’re Canadian when…”
I’m looking through Etsy today, trying to decide about a custom buckle from Fosterweld, browsing Gift Guides (and lusting over this summer floral picture by Get The Picture) and getting in the Christmas mood!
A few more things I need to do to get into the Christmas mood:
- Watch Love Actually
- Put on the Xmas tunes and wrap gifts
- Drink some mint hot chocolate
- Bake goodies!
Tonight my little sister is coming to sleep over. She’s 15 and I love it when she sleeps over and we can have a Girls Night. Chick flicks here we come!

Sometimes people make “cute” look so effortless! Jeeze…
Well peeps, it’s -40c here and ice fog is surrounding my work place so thickly, you can’t see anything. Why we are still open is beyond me. Seriously. What farmer in his right mind is going to be needing tractor parts in weather like this??
I should have phoned in and said my truck wouldn’t start. Dangit. Why didn’t I think of this earlier?
I’ll have new pictures of the kitchen this evening. You wouldn’t believe what we (aka: Hubby) has accomplished! I just about pee my pants every time I walk into the kitchen. I can’t believe it’s really mine, really just about finished and really so amazing. Wow. I seriously feel SO blessed!

I’ve been Christmas shopping on Etsy! I’m so proud of myself for starting shopping already! I have some fun DVD’s for the younger siblings, a necklace, this super cute hat, and the odd toy for the nieces. I’m so ahead of the game…and that’s very unusual for me.
I love buying gifts that actually mean something to the recipients, but usually I’m so late in buying the gift it turns into a game of “What’s left in the stores that they might like”.
I was on Etsy the other day and found this seriously funky hat (they’re so in style right now, I love it!) for one of my younger sisters. Tiss would look so adorable in it, but her personality is more “I’m here but don’t want anyone to notice”, so I’m not sure if she would get good use out of it. But Sally would be able to pull it off too, so it’s a toss-up.
Orrrr….maybe I’ll keep it for myself! Nah, I will give it as a gift, but I’m totally going back to get one for myself!
Visit SoftSpoken for more amazing knitted creations guys! If you’re looking for the girls (actually, there’s some guy stuff in the shop too!) it’s a great stop for fashionable knits.

My gosh people! I’m DYING for one of these quilts. Really, I’m a farm girl at heart. And mix “romantic” in there too, and seeing a quilt brings images of a wine and cheese picnic beside a slow flowing creek, willows flowing their long branches in the clear water. The sun is warm and bright, and the wine is making me sleepy.
…
Oh. Right, I’m writing a blog entry. Wow, I just got totally lost in that other world…
I was visiting Kid Stuff World, one of my lovely blog loves. Stacey rocks! But one of her blogs caught my attention with it’s beautiful, stunning and completely cozy picture of a quilt. The link lead here: Simplify: Feeling Lucky?

You have to check out her store!

You know how I love weddings…like looove weddings…So much so that I attack every bride I know and beg “Let me help with DECORATING!”. It’s sad.
So that’s why I still have “Style Me Pretty” as a blog favorite, because I can’t get enough of decorating and ideas and colors and dresses and flowers and…well, you get it.
This weeks Handmade Wedding article in Etsy’s Storque totally caters to my obsession.

And I L.O.V.E. this, it’s such a huge stamp and perfect for any sort of funky craft!

Abby and Grr (cute name eh?) opened up in February of this year and are an adorable addition to Etsy. And they’ve already made it on the front page! Woo! Do your daily good deed and buy a pretty item from their shop!
Oh my gosh, my Europe trip is just about to start…I’m so excited I have butterflies, can’t sleep, can’t eat. It’s like falling in love all over again. This is the cure for the seven year itch. Just go traveling.
I can’t wait to get there and take tons of pictures, see my family and visit the crazy awesome sites! Wish me luck, see you on the other side!

Good Morning America!
Miss Brache is one of the most outstanding shops on Etsy. In more ways than one. They stand out (get it, ‘outstanding’..ha!), they excellent quality, they’re unique. They’re ahead of the pack when it comes to style, not to the point where it’s strange, but the the perfect point of delicious in-style fashion. Her style reminds me of Katy Perry.
Miss Brache is the biache.
Phhh. I have a lame sense of humor I know…I see you rolling those eyes.

So I have the day off work today…unexpectedly. It’s slowed down enough at the tax office that they don’t need me anymore, so I have the week off. I’ve told my new job that I’ll be free this week if they need me, but until they let me know if they do or not, I’m free!
I woke up at 5:30 this morning, not on purpose, but I did get up and got a lot done! It’s amazing what a couple more hours in the day will do for your housecleaning!
Right now I’m sitting on the couch, searching through Etsy, and watching Sara’s Cottage. Have you ever seen that show? It’s amazing. This interior designer is completely re-working a family cottage. And it’s making me drool. I’m going to copy her kitchen I’ve decided. It’s just perfect for the look I’m going for in our re-modeling this summer. Now, to just convince Hubby…
I need to reupholster the kitchen chairs so I’ll be keeping my eye out for some light green plaid or striped fabric. I think we’ll go for white rectangle tiles for the kitchen back splash, white and grey flecked counter-top, grey or light green cupboards (if I can find some that are affordable), and for flooring? Hmm…that’s something I have to think about yet.
Ps: Don’t you just LOVE this Treasury? The linen color is really getting me.
