hat

I’ve been Christmas shopping on Etsy! I’m so proud of myself for starting shopping already! I have some fun DVD’s for the younger siblings, a necklace, this super cute hat, and the odd toy for the nieces. I’m so ahead of the game…and that’s very unusual for me.

I love buying gifts that actually mean something to the recipients, but usually I’m so late in buying the gift it turns into a game of “What’s left in the stores that they might like”.

I was on Etsy the other day and found this seriously funky hat (they’re so in style right now, I love it!) for one of my younger sisters. Tiss would look so adorable in it, but her personality is more “I’m here but don’t want anyone to notice”, so I’m not sure if she would get good use out of it. But Sally would be able to pull it off too, so it’s a toss-up.

Orrrr….maybe I’ll keep it for myself! Nah, I will give it as a gift, but I’m totally going back to get one for myself!

Visit SoftSpoken for more amazing knitted creations guys! If you’re looking for the girls (actually, there’s some guy stuff in the shop too!) it’s a great stop for fashionable knits.

My Granddad passed away almost a year ago and although I hadn’t seen him many times, it was a hard experience for me. I had always felt a strong connection to him, I’m not sure what created that connection, but it was there and I loved him alot.

The only thing that I wanted of his when he passed was his hat. On one of the visits to England when I was a kid, I had worn the hat constantly. I love it. It represented England and my Granddad. Old school tweed, worn and aged. So on my trip to England this past summer with Hubby, I made sure I asked my Dad’s brothers if I could have it.

Yesterday a friend and I went out to do a photoshoot and I decided that the hat would be a perfect centrepiece to one of the shoots we had planned. I loved how they turned out! I love how they look so British, I know my Granddad would be so proud: “Oh Katie, would you look at that….”.

And it’s on SALE! OOooo!

So last night was a busy one…actually yesterday as a whole was a busy one. Hubby was worried I wasn’t getting enough sleep so he told me to take the morning off of work and sleep in…not going to say no to that!! I didn’t get to work until 11:30 and it would have been perfect had I not woken up with a headache! Oh well.

Then at work I taught several students how to make lip gloss. It took up the whole afternoon, bringing me to 3:30 when I needed to leave work early for an Arbonne meeting in the next town.

A long drive to the Arbonne meeting, a GREAT meeting with Patrice Mattison. She’s so amazing! She’s an Arbonne trainer from the States who focuses on leveraging your time and communications with your clients / potential clients. It’s seriously incredible!

We drove up there with two of our Regional Presidents, IN A WHITE MERCEDES. I’m SO getting one of those!!!
