Sometimes people make “cute” look so effortless! Jeeze…

Well peeps, it’s -40c here and ice fog is surrounding my work place so thickly, you can’t see anything. Why we are still open is beyond me. Seriously. What farmer in his right mind is going to be needing tractor parts in weather like this??

I should have phoned in and said my truck wouldn’t start. Dangit. Why didn’t I think of this earlier?

I’ll have new pictures of the kitchen this evening. You wouldn’t believe what we (aka: Hubby) has accomplished! I just about pee my pants every time I walk into the kitchen. I can’t believe it’s really mine, really just about finished and really so amazing. Wow. I seriously feel SO blessed!

We’re finally getting to the part of our kitchen expansion that I can be more involved with (will I regret saying that? Most likely…): The decorating!

The walls are drywalled and ready to be mudded and taped, which means that painting will soon be upon us, and then installing the flooring. Since this also means that within a few weeks (cross your fingers) I’ll be hanging curtains and recovering our kitchen chairs, I’m looking for options.

I’ve always loved these colors together, and since I saw it in a couple weddings on the Style Me Pretty Blog, I’ve been wanting to incorporate the colors into my home. If I can’t get married again, why not use in the home decor? Haha!

I’m going to be talking with my interior design friend to see if these fabrics would look good with the wall color I’ve picked out, and what she thinks about having them all together. Maybe a bit much? What are your thoughts?

Hubby has thoughtfully designed a inset bookshelf in my kitchen, right above the small desk that will hold the phone and laptop. And, as fluke has it, a potlight is right above the shelf to add a homey and comfy glow. Love it!

I was thinking today, it would be cool to do some texture on the wall behind the desk and something creative with the inset shelf, to make it even more of a feature.

And somehow I found this link to doing wall stencils! I’m really loving on the look in the first video there. I think that might be the one.

And some cool brackets to finish off the shelf? Yep, I’m really loving this idea! I’m brilliant…

So this is where we’re at with the house now! It’s really coming along, and we’re so excited! It’s all closed in, which is the most important part at this point. The cold Canadian winter is coming soon. And by ‘soon’ I mean it snowed last night….

Soon we’ll be doing the electrical, insulation, drywalling….and the list continues.

It’s getting really stressful because the kitchen is torn up, there’s dust and dirt everywhere. Half my kitchen drawers and other storage are in the other room, stacked on top of each other. It’s making things challenging. But we’re trying to keep the end result in mind, the wonderful kitchen full of storage. And it’ll be here soon!

My hubby is doing so good, working so hard every night and hardly even taking weekends off. He’s amazing and I’m so lucky to be married to someone so hard working!

Two-Timer

I’m a two-timin’ blogger! I have two blogs going now…as if I don’t have enough to fill my time 😀

I love to write though, and I started this little ditty of a blog for a fictional character, Kitty. I thought it would be a cool way to write a story.

See what you think!

Other than that, life has been busy with Arbonne…my business is growing like I didn’t think was possible! I’m SO excited to see it expanding and  growing into my goals. It’s really cool to know that soon I’ll be able to quit my day job (or at least replace my income)!

The house is coming along too, windows and doors are in, sub floor is layed, roof is fully finished. We’re working on the electrical now and then we’ll be on to insulation (which is important, considering we’ve already had a snowfall!) and drywalling. Woo!! Pictures to come, I promise!!

It’s Coming!

Our house renos are slowly coming! Yay!! Since this picture was taken a few days ago, the shingles were completed and today the whole (or moat, as we call it) around the addition was filled.

house

I know it’s not that pretty of a sight, but in my eyes, I can see the new siding, windows and doors, and the beautiful and huge kitchen I’ll have soon!

Flooring, cabinets and countertop are ordered. The Garden doors for the other side of the addition and the new door and windows are in! We’re SO excited that this is all coming together a nicely as it is. We’re not only feeling excited, we’re feeling blessed.

See that big window on the white part of the house? And the door beside it? My next project (maybe I’m thinking a bit too far ahead…) is to make that big window another set of Garden Doors and block up that existing door. But my hubby would die if I mentioned that while we’re still in the middle of these kitchen renos! Haha!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Hot Saturday!

How cool is this shop?? Wall decals are the “new thing”! You can get funky sayings, have “decal pets” or build on the atmosphere of the room. Take this chandelier for instance, where else can you buy a chandelier for $30.00? And! It can be any color you want. Awesome hey?

Wall decal’ing is the perfect way to funk up any room in your house, or…your brick and mortar shop! (check out this cute little coffee cup!). And the decals don’t take up and floor space!
