“I look good. I mean real good. Hey everyone, come and see how good I look!”. (A quote, from Ron Burgandy…not really what I think of myself. But I sure do think my shop looks nice!).

In etsy on September 17, 2008 at 4:18 pmI’m in a Showcase today (: It’s the Fall Fashion Showcase, which I thought my bags fit into perfectly (: Make sure to check it out!
Phewf! Last night I was able to finish another bag that I had been frustrated with on the weekend. Who knows what I was doing wrong initially. Maybe I just needed to step away from the machine for a while. I went back to it last night, took apart what I had done before and started again…no problems.
Now to take pictures! My camera is completely craped out so I’ll have to borrow one for a while. So no pictures so far, but as soon as I can, I’ll have some up!
More Projects
In Uncategorized on September 13, 2008 at 3:00 pmI finished another bag last night (: I love this fabric and I’ve made the handles a little bit different again. I tied the knot on the rope handles inbetwene the lining and the outer shell so you can’t even see it. There’s also two zippered pockets on either side of the bag. The handle is long enough that you can wear it messenger style too!
Yippee!! It’s finally Saturday! More sewing for me (: I’m planning on getting up a bit early since Hubby will be getting up early too. That’ll give me a good head start on more bags and hopefully a chance to work on my other blog!
New Site!
In etsy on September 12, 2008 at 8:00 pmHave you ever heard of Fred Flare dot com? I just found it through the Featured Artist on Etsy. It’s a really cute site with cool items of all sorts (: Take a peek! I haven’t quite figured out if it’s all handmade items…or what the site is about exactly, but there’s super awesome stuff on it!
Speaking of the Featured Artist on Etsy…when am I going to get to be on there? (: It’s a goal: One of these days I’ll be the featured artist.
ETSY NEWS: I sold TWO bags on Etsy the other night. Two. To the same buyer (: Yay!! Hopefully sales are picking up! My goal is to have steady sales on the net during the winter and focus on the markets in the summer. That way I’ll have a good income coming in constantly.
Another new bag to come this afternoon!
PS: Also, check out great Flickr artist. Holy. Crap. Love it!
Support A Blogger in Need
In Uncategorized on August 28, 2008 at 4:29 pmOne of my blogging friends, Stace at Kids Stuff World, emailed me the other day, asking if I would help support another blogger who was just in a horrible plane crash. Stacy wanted to know if I’d be willing for my Lotus Bag to go up in a auction where all the proceeds go to Nie Nie, the blogger in need. Of COURSE I was willing!
Head on over to Stacy’s great blog to bid on the bag or other items up for grabs! AUCTION HERE!
Some News
In etsy on August 27, 2008 at 6:36 pmWedding Wednesday is coming, I promise!!
But I just had to share some news: Yesterday was awesome for me. First:I went to a jewelery party. Not really my thing, too much bling…but I wanted to visit and the girl that hosted it asked me to bring a couple bags so she could see what I made. Turns out, without even trying, I made a sale (: Yay! Second:I bought a new sewing machine!! I’ve been saving my money and found this great heavy duty machine on ebay. It sews through leather and denim no prob…I can’t wait to use it! I’m planning on doing a few leather bags, see how it goes anyways (: SUPER excited!!
Bag Party!
In Uncategorized on August 21, 2008 at 4:50 pmWell, last night my two guests arrived right on time (a huge feat for our little town). Unfortunately, I did something to my back so I was hunched over the whole evening, but they didn’t seem to mind at all as they oooh and aaaahhh over my bags. They just couldn’t get enough of them!
They each ended up buying a big KJ Bag and one of the ladies bought a Zippy too. It amazes me that I made $102.00 in less than 20 minutes!! But the best part for me is that they just loved my bags. It still blows me away that people adore something I made that much! I gave them a few business cards and they said they’ll be bragging about my bags to all their friends.
I told them to let me know if they ever wanted to have a little party with their girlfriends. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a regular home party with my bags? I’d just love it! To me, it’d be so much better than going to the Farmers Market. With a home party people come expecting to see one thing, instead of going to buy fresh veggies and then happening to look at my bags. It just seems like it’d be much easier to make a sale.
Yay for Etsy!!
Goals
In Uncategorized on August 20, 2008 at 10:00 pmAnother week has passed and life on the KJ Blog seems to be getting better!! Within the past week I featured blog entries on money managing techniquesfrom successful Etsy artists, as well as Blogging Techniques with opinions and comments from successful bloggers.
There’s a trend I’ve noticed: When I post entries on “How-To”, the views always shoot way up. I love reading them on other blogs, “how-to promote”, “how-to sell”…so I figured I would do more of that on my blog. Guess what, it up’ed my views with minimal promotions. A really cool thing to see!!
My views for this past week got up to 399 without me really trying that hard!
Goal for Blog:
- To have more “how-to” entries!
Ps: That lady is coming to the house tonight to look at my new bags…which reminds me I have yet to show you my newest rendition of the KJ Bag!!…hopefully I’ll make a sale or two! Cross your fingers (:
Goals: Week 6
In blog, crafts, etsy, seller, sellers, selling, sewing, store, stores on July 21, 2008 at 4:40 pmOopsy! I just realized I skipped doing my weekly Goal entry last week!
July 6-13 = 330 views (Not bad…at least I got closer to my goal of 350 views per week. But the amount of daily views was really inconsistent, which is something I need to concentrate on more).
This past weeks views got up to 425 views. The average views per day was pretty steady, so I’m happy with that, although the weekend views are still down. The reason I exceeded my views was because I posted my blog link into an Etsy forum post about promotions. I thought I would drop the link there because the author of the post was asking about money saving ways to promote their Etsy store…and I had a couple in depth entries on that subject. Turns out, I got a huge amount of views from just that little link drop! Niiiice.
I’ve been noticing this past week that views have been easier to come by. I’ve still been promoting, but it seems as though I have some daily readers that pop by no matter if I promote the blog or not. This is awesome!! I really love the thought of having daily readers and people who constantly comment and enjoy my entries! It’s so exciting!!
Also, I’ve noticed in my stats that I’ve been getting a couple people finding the Kj Blog through the WordPress Dashboard (the WP main page)…which I’m thinking means that my blog has been on the main page (: That’d be so cool!!
This weeks creative goals:
- Sewing at least one Kj Bag each evening (two or three would be ideal)
- Making more price tags
- Starting to crochet the hat I meant to start last week :b
- Working more on my BIG PROJECT (shhh! It’s a secret!)
