And just like that, the kitchen flooring is in and the cupboards in all their pieces take over our space.

We’re almost there, home plate (ha! get it? kitche…plate…never mind. Unless you’re like me and have been eating off of styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery for months on end, you might not appreciate that comment. Who am I kidding? No one ever gets my ‘jokes’. Dangit! ) never seemed so close. But first, a break for a winter wedding.

Calgary is in the middle of a huge snow storm. One bigger than they’ve seen in years, or maybe it just seems like that. Our rehearsal was cancelled tonight because the pastor couldnt’ make it on the roads, families flights have been delayed and even calcelled….but we’re safe, warm and happy visiting in this hotel. Ok, we’ll maybe “happy visiting” isn’t the best way to describe it. But we are visiting. Gah, I wish that comment was a joke. Oh make me stop now. It’s late. I’m tired. I’ll stop.

I don’t know if this picture will do the roads and weather justice, but this is what we’re dealing with this weekend:

But it’s an adventure! I told my sis that we would have to have the wedding in a small street in the middle of the snow, like Pheobe on Friends. She didn’t laugh. Apparently that plan wasn’t an option.

Hopefully she’ll let me live through this weekend…

Help me.

hat

I’ve been Christmas shopping on Etsy! I’m so proud of myself for starting shopping already! I have some fun DVD’s for the younger siblings, a necklace, this super cute hat, and the odd toy for the nieces. I’m so ahead of the game…and that’s very unusual for me.

I love buying gifts that actually mean something to the recipients, but usually I’m so late in buying the gift it turns into a game of “What’s left in the stores that they might like”.

I was on Etsy the other day and found this seriously funky hat (they’re so in style right now, I love it!) for one of my younger sisters. Tiss would look so adorable in it, but her personality is more “I’m here but don’t want anyone to notice”, so I’m not sure if she would get good use out of it. But Sally would be able to pull it off too, so it’s a toss-up.

Orrrr….maybe I’ll keep it for myself! Nah, I will give it as a gift, but I’m totally going back to get one for myself!

Visit SoftSpoken for more amazing knitted creations guys! If you’re looking for the girls (actually, there’s some guy stuff in the shop too!) it’s a great stop for fashionable knits.

Fall

In Uncategorized on October 13, 2009 at 11:22 pm

Being fall, it means that all my favorite TV shows (all twentyfivemillion) are back on! Cheer!

And it also means, there’s new friggen shows on that I need to become addicted to. What? Self-control? Limitation? Um, no. I’ve never heard of those words!

As you can see I have a love/hate relationship with my TV.

This is my newest on my Fave List. Rachel Zoe, moody gay boy, bitchy assistant, celebrity clients, beautiful clothes. You really can’t get much better!

The Style of Now

missbrache

Good Morning America!

Miss Brache is one of the most outstanding shops on Etsy. In more ways than one. They stand out (get it, ‘outstanding’..ha!), they excellent quality, they’re unique. They’re ahead of the pack when it comes to style, not to the point where it’s strange, but the the perfect point of delicious in-style fashion. Her style reminds me of Katy Perry.

Miss Brache is the biache.

Phhh. I have a lame sense of humor I know…I see you rolling those eyes.

The ‘Do!

Here’s the before picture, not great quality but it’s here:

Before

And here’s the AFTER picture:

AFTER!

I showed my hairdresser what I wanted to do with my hair and she gasped “Are you sure??” Then her next question was “Did you just break up with someone?”. Ha!

I was so happy that I was able to donate my hair, two big piggy tails were cut off and hopefully someone will benefit from a nice wig! I told Hubby I was donating my hair and he said “I’ll take it, my wife’s going to need it soon”. He thought that was pretty funny.

*picture from MSN Fashionism

I love the Oscars and I was so glad that I got to see even a bit of them this year. I had an Arbonne party later that night, but I was able to watch the red carpet walk, which is what I like the most anyways.

There were so many stunning (that’s not even a big enough word to describe them) dresses this year, it was hard for me to pick my favorite. I looked through MSN Fashionism’s Oscar faves and I loved them all!! But Sarah Jessica Parker’s dress was the one I couldn’t get enough of. I just kept going back to it to stare. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

I love everything about it! The color is the ‘in’ color right now, the style is so old school and perfect, the belt and the layering and the detailing…it’s all breathtaking. Sigh.

I want it.

Camping and Wine

Have you ever noticed that weekends seem longer when you do something on Friday nights? This past Friday, hubby and I went camping, just the two of us to one of our favorite spots. We brought a bottle of wine, Yahtzee, white Cheddar pop corn and enjoyed the gorgeous view of the unending stars. I just love the top picture, it totally captures my kind of camping!

Today is another beautiful day so we’re heading out with some friends for a fire and hot dog roast. While us girls chat and enjoy the day, the boys will be filling our truck with more fire wood for the wood stove. Living in the cold cold north means you have to get a big head start on the snow.

More sewing this evening…I have a couple new bags cut out and ready to go and I think I’ll have a chance to finish both of them. Yet another twist as I find different styles I like. I’ll be posting pictures!

Feature Friday – Capree

In etsy on August 29, 2008 at 3:46 pm

I love it when you look through a portfolio of art and see that the artist is really flexible with their style. They capture different looks and emotions with ease, making their art slip casually into that particular attitude.

Capree, a super talented Etsy artist, is exactly this. All the above pictures are her’s, they all have a completely different feel to them but you’re still convinced that each one is her style. Love it!! I especially love the first group of pictures…I think my fave would have to be “Wrath” (the girl with the gun).

Check out Capree’s blog, website and of course her Etsy shop and LUST over her pictures.
