If you’re looking for a site that will woo you back into love, take a peek at this little ditty.

I’ve been searching for unique dresses for my sisters wedding…or any other special occasion…and I found this awesome site. All vintage dresses, all fun and unique. I’m not sure if this one will work for a winter wedding, but I’d love to get it just to wear out for dinner.

I love old pictures! Old pictures, history, facts and fiction, it’s all so exciting to me! And their clothes…their clothes are so fantastic!

I wish we had made it to England before my Granddad passed away, I was looking forward to asking him about his past adventures, his childhood and his experiences during World War II. My Dad is bringing back old pictures of Granddad and Grandma and their family and I hope to get copies of those great pictures. It’s not a replacement to the stories I was hoping to hear Granddad tell, but maybe they’re the next best thing.

When I see pictures like this I always wonder what came next. Where were they? Who was around? How did this scene play out? I imagine the story in my head like a movie.

This picture is of Hubby’s Grandma when she was a little one…kinda looks like she’s up to no good, doesn’t she? I love the lace detailing on the bottom of her skirt…and what is that chubby little hand holding onto?

I found this old picture (a reprint…but still, it was an original at some point…) and I think it’s beautiful!

Book Worm

I was reading one of my Daily Reads tonight about her Saturday and she got me thinking about books. I could spend hours and hours in a book shop, browsing the shelves, reading a chapter here, a chapter there.

One of my favorite shops to visit in Edmonton or Calgary when we go to visit, is Chapters. I get so excited just seeing the store, and going through those big wooden doors make me grin like a school kid in a candy shop.

My dream book shop though, was in Lewes, England. When I was there last, about ten years ago (wow, that makes me feel OLD!), my Uncle took me on a tour of the town. We came to a corner in the street, at the top of a cobblestone alley where book shelves stood, stacked full of books, on either side of a sunken doorway. Of course I had to take a look. Inside, after my eyes adjusted to the lack of light, the walls were lined with tall shelves, all sagging from the weight of the antique books they held. There were tables in the middle of the store, stacked high with more books, and even more books stacked on the floor beside them.

I dont’ think that I’ve posted on here but: Hubby and I are planning a trip to Europe this spring! It’s a slightly “spur of the moment” trip, and it isn’t going to be as long as I had wanted, but it will be GREAT to see my family over there and experience the culture again. I’m so in love with England it’s not even funny! And we’ll also be taking a couple day trip to Paris while we’re over there, so I’m THRILLED to see the Eiffel Tower and have crepes and wine and cheese at a Parisian cafe. I’m such a romantic!

I love this girls work! There’s something attractive to me about re-purposed clothing and the designers process is always interesting.

My dog is sitting beside me on the floor, nudging her ball towards me and watching it with begging eyes. She’s so weird. She’ll purposely roll it under our living room chairs and then look at us like “Please help. Please!”.

This weekend was so nice! Saturday afternoon I had an Arbonne party, a Spa Party, where I pampered the girls with a facial, foot treatment, hand scrub and massage. I love pampering people! One girl booked another party, so I can pamper her and her friends too. The guests were so relaxed they were saying they wanted a nap!

Round and Round

Well, the world just keeps going ’round and ’round! It’s amazing to me that I still have so many constant readers ever after neglecting them for a little while. Thanks guys, you’re awesome!

I used to be so worried about my readership, always trying to get a certain amount per day etc, but I just don’t have time for that now! And even though I’m not posting links here and there, I still have new readers coming in and older constant ones still stickin’ around! It’s awesome!

Well, today is FRIDAY! Thank goodness!! I need some rest, a few days to sleep in and just relax will be awesome.

Just looking through Etsy and found these great necklace charms from Anne Kiel Jewelry. I love the colors! You can use one of them, or several on a necklace…either way, it’s an adorable piece!!

Modish

Modish is one of those blogs that I strive after. I realize I’m not in their “league” (Ahem, YET) but it’s something I am working towards slowly but surely.

The other day I was browsing through the Etsy Forums and saw that Modish (Jena) has an Etsy profile! Very cool. She was linking to her blog (see, even the big blogs promote themselves in Etsy Forums!) because she had made this great entry on marketing. Not only are there tons of links, but there’s also a short discription on what the blog / company will look for when you present yourself to them. It’s really something to read through, if not act on just yet.

While I was at the Modish Blog, I clicked on an entry I saw about Trashy Diva. It’s a shop full of great clothes, shoes and accessories. Really, it’s vintage style, but they’re super cute and could fit any style. And the prices are pretty reasonable too! There’s a pair of boots that I really really want…but they’re a bit out of my price range (as good boots usually are!).

I love Modish. It’s actually one of the sites that I’m going to try to advertise on. Oh, I didn’t write about advertising here did I? Nope, that was in the other blog.

Feature Friday – Capree

In etsy on August 29, 2008 at 3:46 pm

I love it when you look through a portfolio of art and see that the artist is really flexible with their style. They capture different looks and emotions with ease, making their art slip casually into that particular attitude.

Capree, a super talented Etsy artist, is exactly this. All the above pictures are her’s, they all have a completely different feel to them but you’re still convinced that each one is her style. Love it!! I especially love the first group of pictures…I think my fave would have to be “Wrath” (the girl with the gun).

Check out Capree’s blog, website and of course her Etsy shop and LUST over her pictures.
