I really beginning to love this style of art! It’s modern and unusual, but it looks pretty realistic at the same time. You can almost feel those soft wisps of hair and there’s emotion behind her eyes.

Laura Suis an Etsy artist (of course, what other type of artist do I ever feature here?) that’s new to my growing list of Hearted sellers. There’s a few more great pieces of work in her shop so check it out! Annnd, if you’re looking for even more Favorites, take a peek into her Hearted items.

My newest “I Want”.

Creative WOWSA

I have a huge love for graffiti. Every summer / fall I head down to the train yard and take pictures of the amazing art on the normally ugly and plain train cars. My hubby doesn’t really ‘get’ my interest in this type of art, but that’s exactly what I think it is “Art”.

I would LOVE it if CN Rail would hire graffiti artists to decorate their cars. Trains are so boring, imagine if they were in full color? They sure would turn heads and CN would get tons of attention.

Another one of my graffiti dreams is to take a trip to several huge cities and get someone who knows the area to take me around to the best graffiti art. To build up my collection of photos of graffiti would really be awesome!

Take a look at this guy’s art work. CN? Would you like his resume?

Before I even thought too much about it, I cropped the creator’s name out of this Treasury! If you’re know who it is, please let me know! I’d love to credit them and give their shop a bit more exposure!

There’s some awesome items here, I think my favorite is the shoes. SO cute!!

* NOTE: An awesome Etsy member just contacted me to let me know this WHOLE screen-shot had been published on Flickr too. The creators name is JennyBunny. Check out her cute store, full of awesome jewellery!

Wish I was here…

But I’m not…I’m here…waking up early for another Farmers Market. Hopefully this morning will go better than last week!

I’m so exhausted that I really shouldn’t be going this week, but I committed to it, so I really should. It really is a good think that it’s a long weekend, otherwise I’d be a mess for the coming week. My hubby’s bummed that we can’t go camping (friends are coming from out of town and we need to visit with them!) but I’m just as happy to laze around the house and craft.

I finally received my newest project supplies in the mail! The new straps I’m going to be trying out! I’ll need to test a few bags with it first, but I’m really excited for the final results to start showing. There’s some great ideas in my little brain, we’ll have to see if I can bring them to life!

Decorating!

We’re trying to get our act together and decorate our bedroom. We’ve been in our house now for three summers and of course, we’re leaving our own room as the last thing to decorate. I just don’t want to be like that! I’d like my room to be a quite get-away, a calming place to go and relax. Right now it’s a disaster!

I think I’m going to stick with lighter, toned down colors, a pale olive green sounds good. I need to get a new duvet cover (well, ok, I don’t…but it’s a really good excuse!) that would look good in the green color above. We have dark brown curtains already and we need to get new carpet, a cream colored burlap type.

I’m also planning on painting a small book shelf white and having a comphy chair in one of the corners.

I can’t wait to get started on this project (yes, another one to add to the list!!).

I’ve been working on a few projects lately, a couple sewing things, a couple crafts. This journal is the final result of one of the paper experiments I’ve done. It was a simple one, I covered the journal with pages from a magazine, pasting it to the journal cover with Modge Podge. I’ve worked with Modge Podge before and I like it, the only issue I have is that it leaves wrinkles in lighter weight paper. It’s not always a bad thing, sometimes it gives a really cool antique look, but sometimes it’s just not the look you’re wanting.

When I was out of town for a work trip last week, I stopped by a scrapbooking store and picked up some really funky cardboard letters. I decided to use a couple of them as sentcils on the front of this journal.

I’m pretty impressed with the end result! The pictures I chose give a calming feeling and the letters are fun and bold.

This bag is my second project…still in the works. I finished this version, but like everything else I start from scratch, it needs improvement before I put in up for grabs. My intention with this pouch was to make it “expandable”. I decided to go a bit more on the simple side with this one in the end, but I think it will work out with some practice. There’s three Zippies in one, really, a Zippered pouch in the centre, surrounded by two pouches that close with the main big zipper.

It’s hard to know what you should do first on this project. The centre Zippie is attached to the big one surrounding it. I needed to figure out when in the process to sew it; before I’d finished the outer pouch, but before it was completely finished.

I made a small section for credit cards, the middle zippered part and then another section that is the measurements of the main pouch.

Obviously, I still have a bunch of things to figure out, but it’ll be a fun and challenging process!
